Security Administrative Assistant


Status: Contingent upon contract award        

Location: Hampton Roads

Security Clearance: Secret

Salary range: $55,000 to $75,000

Travel: Minimal travel as required to support customer meetings and mission requirements.

Background: Vectrona is seeking detail-oriented Security Administrative Assistants to support the execution of personnel, physical, and industrial security programs for a Navy command. The successful candidates will provide administrative and operational support for access control, security databases, visitor management, personnel security processes, and security documentation while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense and Department of the Navy security policies and procedures.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Maintain security databases, spreadsheets, and records supporting access control, personnel security, visitor management, and security operations.
  • Process security documentation, visit requests, citizenship verification, camera passes, badges, non-disclosure agreements, and access authorizations in accordance with Government requirements.
  • Support access control operations by coordinating with Government personnel, contractors, and outside agencies to ensure timely processing of security requests.
  • Assist with security program administration, including physical security, personnel security, industrial security, OPSEC, insider threat, and visitor control programs.
  • Monitor security data for accuracy, perform record audits, identify discrepancies, and support reporting and corrective actions.
  • Support daily security operations, including badge management, key and lock control, fingerprinting, CAC resets, security logs, emergency response activities, and security training.
  • Provide administrative support for security planning, documentation, and compliance activities while ensuring adherence to Department of Defense and Navy security directives.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, security databases, and electronic security systems to support mission requirements and maintain accurate security records.

Preferred Education/Degree:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in criminal justice, Homeland Security, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, or other Government security programs.
  • Experience administering personnel, physical, industrial, operational, or information security programs.
  • Knowledge of access control procedures, badging, visitor management, clearance processing, and security documentation.
  • Experience with electronic security systems such as Lenel, CCTV systems, access control systems, or similar security platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense security policies, insider threat programs, OPSEC, anti terrorism measures, and personnel security procedures.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Defense Security Service (DSS), military security, or other security related certifications are highly desirable.
