Position/Job Title: Joint Events Coordinator
Status: Full-Time, Contingent Upon Award
Location: Herbert R. Temple Army National Guard Readiness Center, Arlington, VA (some work at the Pentagon)
Start date: 1 April 2026
Security Clearance: Secret
Travel: Required; estimated 6–8 CONUS trips per year to support exercises and National Guard events
Background: Vectrona is seeking a Joint Events Coordinator to provide planning and documentation support for National Guard Bureau (NGB) J5-J participation in strategic exercises and major events. This role ensures that the J5-J Division is well-represented in forums such as the Joint Exercise Working Group (JEWG) and NGCC operations. The coordinator tracks exercise schedules, attends key events, and delivers timely documentation, including meeting minutes and After-Action Reports (AARs).
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with J5-J staff to plan and track participation in strategic-level exercises (e.g., Vigilant Guard, NGCC events)
- Attend initial planning, in-progress review, and final rehearsal meetings as directed
- Capture discussions, action items, and leadership decisions in clear and timely meeting minutes
- Prepare After-Action Reports (AARs) following exercise events and real-world activations
- Maintain a calendar of relevant joint training and exercise events, and communicate upcoming participation requirements
- Collaborate with interagency and Combatant Command partners as required
- Ensure NGB equities are appropriately documented during exercise development and evaluation phases
- Monitor NGCC activation support requirements and coordinate information flow during response operations
Preferred Education/Degree:
- Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, Emergency Management, or related field
- Military or civilian training in exercise planning, facilitation, or emergency operations is preferred
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience supporting joint exercises, operational planning, or event coordination in a federal or military setting
- Familiarity with large-scale homeland defense and DSCA exercises, including planning timelines and documentation formats
- Demonstrated ability to produce fast-turn, high-quality summaries and reports
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex schedules and participation requirements
- Experience supporting crisis operations centers or interagency coordination meetings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of National Guard missions, governance structures, and interagency engagement practices is a plus
