Position/Title: Logistics Management Specialist – Diving Equipment

Status: Full Time

Duty Location: San Diego (on site)

Security: SECRET (Must have ACTIVE security clearance.)

Background: Vectrona is seeking a Logistics Management Specialist for Diving Equipment will provide inventory management, maintenance oversight, and technical expertise to ensure the readiness and functionality of diving systems and equipment used by Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) personnel. This role is vital for supporting mission-critical diving operations by maintaining equipment accountability, optimizing lifecycle management, and implementing modernization strategies under EODGRU ONE’s Table of Allowance (TOA).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory and Maintenance Management:

  • Oversee the distribution, tracking, and accountability of diving equipment within the TOA and DPAS systems.
  • Conduct assessments to determine the material condition and operational readiness of diving systems and equipment.
  • Develop and manage maintenance schedules to ensure equipment availability and reliability.

Modernization and Lifecycle Management:

  • Recommend and implement modernization initiatives to improve the performance and safety of diving equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of configuration changes, upgrades, and lifecycle status using tools like CDMD-OA.
  • Ensure lifecycle management practices are followed to optimize the longevity and functionality of diving systems.

Logistical Coordination:

  • Coordinate the issue, receipt, and movement of diving equipment between commands to meet operational needs.
  • Work closely with TOA Commodity Managers and other stakeholders to address logistical challenges and equipment shortfalls.
  • Support equipment transportation for operational deployments, training, and evaluations.

Analysis and Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, maintenance schedules, and operational readiness of diving equipment.
  • Analyze trends in equipment usage and maintenance to recommend improvements or corrective actions.
  • Provide technical input for decision-making processes regarding diving equipment readiness and logistics planning.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on diving equipment during meetings, briefings, and operational discussions.
  • Provide training and guidance to personnel on the use and maintenance of diving systems.
  • Maintain effective communication with EODGRU ONE staff, subordinate commands, and external stakeholders.

Compliance and Security:

  • Ensure compliance with all DOD and DON policies regarding diving equipment maintenance and logistics.
  • Maintain an active SECRET clearance and protect sensitive information related to diving systems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of specialized experience managing diving equipment and systems.
  • Strong understanding of logistics management processes and TOA requirements within Navy Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) or a similar context.
  • Proficiency in DPAS and other logistics and maintenance management systems.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for creating documentation, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and senior-level stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with NAVFAC TOA Viewer, MFOM, and related DOD/DON software applications is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Specialized Expertise:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing diving equipment and systems, including maintenance, modernization, and inventory processes.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiarity with NAVFAC TOA Viewer, Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), and other DOD inventory and maintenance management systems.
  • Proficiency in maintenance scheduling systems like SKED PMS Scheduler and technical databases like CDMD-OA.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Strong ability to assess diving equipment readiness, recommend maintenance actions, and implement modernization plans.

Communication:

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills for presenting reports, collaborating with diverse teams, and coordinating with senior leadership.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Proven capability to resolve maintenance and logistical challenges for diving equipment in both operational and training environments.
  • Active SECRET clearance is required.
